I Thought Of A Rainbow

I thought of a rainbow
I thought of a rainbow today
As I watched the rain pouring down
Someday my life would be better
I would not be all alone

Even the birds in the trees
Seemed discouraged, just like me
I think that they were looking for
God's little bit of poetry

No matter where I looked
Beauty and nature preached a sermon though
Even in dark discouragement
I saw His beautiful rainbow

Now Thoughts From Me
Yesterday, as the rain came down
I saw a beautiful rainbow all around
It was just a small one
And I could see it on the ground

It told me not to fret and be stressed
That God sent it to me cause I was so depressed
God sent it to me, I know
He told me to look around and
After the rain the flowers would grow

The seeds I had planted would soon reap
And memories of that rainbow I should keep
The rainbow with it's colors so true
That after the rain the clouds come through
And covered the earth with such beautiful hues

Oh Lord, send a rainbow to each of us
Right down into the depths of our hearts
Let Your Son shine brightly and make each day
One that we can always look back and say
Lord, thank You for the rainbow that day

Lord, we don't have to find the end of the rainbow
It will be plain and vivid to us as we prosper and grow
In your word, your love, and strength and power
Just look for a rainbow during and after every shower
